Hotel Hints

With rooms varying in quality so much, it’s important to be very specific when you book and upon check-in. Politely but firmly ask for one of the “newly renovated” or “executive” rooms. Guest experiences between the old and updated parts of the hotel are completely different. Getting there earlier in the day may tilt the odds in your favor in terms of getting a better room. Do not hesitate to ask to see the room before you accept it.

A smart way to enjoy your stay is to focus on the best an resort has to offer –– its location and its pool. Walk back to the hotel in the middle of the day from your exploration of the town on foot in the morning because that’s when it’ll be both convenient and relaxing, like a resort at the center of town. With the huge terrific — and usually uncrowded — swimming pool, you’ll be able to get right back to it and enjoy what it has to offer and stay for an ‘ideal’ afternoon.

Lonavala is incomplete without the visit to some of its eminent viewpoints. Provision of hiring a local auto-rickshaw for a few hours can take travelers to an exploration of top sites including Tiger Point, Duke's Nose, and Lion’s point. The views into the adjacent valleys with hills rising in successions on all sides spellbound visitors especially in the time of the year of the monsoons or immediately after that. So get the driver negotiated on the price prior to your start.

The hotel does not have much in the way of food of its own, but it is right in the middle of where a food lover would want to be. Do not forget to visit some of the famous old joints in the Lonavala market for real local food. Relish a short ride out to one of the big ‘dhabas’ on the venerable highway with great ambiance and mouth-watering Punjabi and North Indian flavors. That’ll make your evening out-of-the-world.
